I am a professional automotive technician myself and came in to request a multi point inspection and runnability test. I gave them minute details of what I found but did not say what I actually did to it nor told them I am a technician. I came in because I don't have a a scanner that does power balance and I just dont have the time and space to do this work. They performed a power balance test with a scanner and found the faulty cylinder which turned out to be a bad spark plug. They also noted other faulty parts of which I knew of and they nailed spot on. They noticed the new brake pads and rotors I changed, and also mentioned a front wheel bearing coming loose, which I discovered when changing my brakes and ordered the parts to. The price of parts was very expensive but this is just how mechanics and auto shops make money and do business. You can definitely find parts cheaper but you have to remember that the parts are priced like that because they come with a warranty. There may be other issues associated with my truck but I don't expect them to know this until these repairs are done and a road test is performed. I declined the repair as I can do it myself, but I praise this shop for doing the diagnosis and being clear, concise, and truthful. 5 stars.
